Recorded during the lockdown in early 2020, McCARTNEY III follows in the footsteps of McCARTNEY (1970), created after The Beatles' breakup, and McCARTNEY II (1980), made after Wings disbanded. As Paul’s third entirely self-written, arranged, and performed solo album, it became a milestone release, securing his first UK No.1 album under his solo name in 31 years.
In 2022, McCartney embarked on his long-awaited world tour, performing tracks from the album, including Women and Wives.
This latest compilation gathers unreleased tracks, rare demos, and special charity performances, such as Lady Madonna and The Saints. Also included is Just Fun, a rare early Beatles track performed for John Lennon's 80th anniversary, along with must-hear live recordings from the Seattle show on his latest tour.
